  • Ownership history: In 1999, Mame Warren was commissioned to write a history commemorating The Johns Hopkins University's 125th anniversary. The basis for the book, Johns Hopkins: Knowledge for the World: 1876-2001, was a series of oral history interviews with Hopkins faculty, administrators and alumni. She transferred the tapes, transcripts, and research notes to Special Collections in 2001. Interviews conducted by Warren after 2001 were done under the auspices of Hopkins History Enterprises, an oral history and editorial service provided by the Sheridan Libraries for the Johns Hopkins community and beyond, and as part of a project called Hopkins History On-Line. Since 2014, Professor Stuart "Bill" Leslie and Hopkins Retrospective Program Manager Jennifer Kinniff have conducted interviews under the auspices of the program Hopkins Retrospective.
  • Restrictions: Single copies may be made for research purposes. Researchers are responsible for determining any copyright questions. It is not necessary to seek our permission as the owner of the physical work to publish or otherwise use public domain materials that we have made available for use, unless Johns Hopkins University holds the copyright. Additional restrictions on use are noted at the interview level.
  • Eisenhower library: Gift of Mame Warren, 2001.
  • The first accrual was transferred to Special Collections by Mame Warren in 2001, and several subsequent accruals were transferred between 2001 to 2007. The interviews conducted by Hopkins Retrospective and the Ferdinand Hamburger University Archives were transferred to the University Archives starting in 2015 to the present, and transferred annually.
