Summary
  • Ms. Warren chose interview subjects who could comment on a wide variety of experiences and events at the university. Fifty-five people were interviewed, representing all university divisionstarts and sciences, the schools of medicine and public health, the Peabody Institute, the Applied Physics Lab, the School of Professional and Business Studies, and the School for Advanced International Studies. The tapes and transcripts are filed alphabetically by interviewee.

  • Historical information: In 1999, Mame Warren was commissioned to write a history commemorating The Johns Hopkins University's 125th anniversary. The basis for the book was a series of oral history interviews with Hopkins faculty, administrators and alumni. She donated the tapes, transcripts, and research notes to Special Collections in 2001. Ms. Warren is continuing her interviews as part of the "Hopkins History On-Line" project, so additional interviews will be added to the collection.
